Air duct cleaning is becoming a major factor in the cleaning industry. More than 50 million Americans suffer from allergies, and the level of some hazardous pollutants in indoor air has been found to be up to 70 times greater than the outdoor air (USEPA). Many of these pollutants include: dirt, pollen, dust, fungus, bacteria, cigarette smoke, dust mites, mold and hundreds of other chemicals in the heating and air conditioning duct system. More and more people are becoming aware of the benefits of air duct cleaning. Indoor air quality is one concern that homeowners have when they decide to investigate air duct cleaning. In a typical six-room home, up to 40 pounds of dust is created annually through everyday living. Your heating and cooling system is the lungs of your home. The system taken air in and breathes air out.
Through normal occupation in a home, we generate a great deal of contaminants and air pollutants, such as dander, dust, and chemicals. These contaminants are pulled into the HVAC system and re-circulated 5 to 7 times per day, on average. Over time, this re-circulation causes a build-up of contaminants in the duct work.
While dirty ducts don’t necessarily mean unhealthy air in your home, school or workplace, they may be contributing to larger health issues or harboring contaminants that could cause serious problems for people with respiratory health conditions, autoimmune disorders or some environmental allergies.
According to the U.S. Department of Energy, 25 to 40 percent of the energy used for heating or cooling a home is wasted. Contaminants in the heating and cooling system cause it to work harder and shorten the life of your system. Although filters are used, the heating and cooling system still gets dirty through normal use. When an HVAC system is clean, it doesn’t have to work as hard to maintain the temperature you desire. As a result, less energy is used, leading to improved cost-effectiveness.
JIM’S SUPER-CLEAN uses the spinvac 1000 to clean your air ducts 1st, We remove your vent cover and clean it. Then we scrub clean your air duct from the vent all the way to the main duct with a brush that spins 1000 times per minute. we then reverse the rotation and slowly pull back the brush which causes the removed dirt to be thrown twords the vent. There is a vaccum attached behind the brush that vaccums a majority of the dirt up. whatever dirt remains ends up at the base of the vent. We vaccum the remaining dirt by hand. the final step for that vent is to fog/coat the enire vent with a liquid disinfectant deodorizer that has an enzyme to kill bacteria. We then replace your vent. This is done on every vent one at a time. 2nd, we clean your return vents, main air vent and top and bottom of furnace in the same manor until everything is clean.
